Tesco loses High Court effort to quash planning consent for rival store

Supermarket giant Tesco has lost a High Court challenge against a council's consent for a rival retailer Lidl to open a new store, with a judge dismissing the retailer's claims that a planning officer had 'materially misdirected members' in applying the sequential test.
