Council asks Whitehall for ‘planning control’ over creation of second homes and holiday lets

Cornwall Council is seeking new powers from central government to allow it to require some “planning control” over the conversion of sole residence homes into second homes or holiday lets, as part of a package of measures to tackle “the unprecedented pressure on housing” in the county.
