Local Plan Watch: Southend draft plan proposes 10,000 homes on green belt

Southend Council has agreed to consult on a draft version of its local plan that proposes allocating up to 10,000 homes on green belt land, some of which could be outside the borough, while calling on local MPs to lobby ministers on the difficulties the authority faces in meeting its housing requirement.
