BBC fined £28k for ‘reckless disregard’ in broadcasting Planning Court proceedings

The BBC has been fined £28,000 after illegally recording a hearing before the Planning Court and broadcasting part of it to half a million viewers, with a judge saying it "beggared belief" that experienced journalists had breached the strict ban on taping court proceedings.
