Cheltenham Council announces new interim head of planning

Mike Holmes has joined Cheltenham Borough Council as its interim head of planning, a role he previously held for four months in 2019.

A former Planning Officers Society president in 2011/12, Holmes was previously the director of planning at Bournemouth Borough Council for more than 13 years. He has also held various roles at Bracknell Forest, West Berkshire, Leicester, South Cambridgeshire, Cambridge City, and South Somerset councils.

He is currently the director of consultancy Holmesplanning Services, providing training and advice to local authorities.
