Councils 'shouldn't take their foot off the gas' in preparing local plans, says chief planner

Local plans will be "pivotal" to the government's proposed changes to the planning system and council planners "shouldn’t take their foot off the gas" in producing them, Joanna Averley, the new chief planner at the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government, has said.
