Counsultancies Lichfields, Nexus Planning, Savills and WYG are among the firms to have successfully bid to join the Innovation Chain North West framework which is overseen by housing association Great Places Housing Group.

The housing association says the framework is "designed to provide support to anyone looking to deliver mixed use housing and associated social infrastructure across the North West and Yorkshire".

Developers who pay for access to the framework can select consultants and contractors directly or hold mini-competitions for projects.

Great Places Housing Group said the framework worked with 17 clients between 2012 and 2016 to deliver 4,067 homes.

A total of 83 consultants and contractors have been appointed to the latest four-year framework, selected from a total of 183 firms that applied.

Eight firms were appointed to a pool of planning consultants serving the western region covered by the framework, while 10 were appointed to serve the eastern region.

Five planning consultancies - Cass Associates, DPP One, Hive Land & Planning, Nexus Planning, and NJL Consulting - were selected for both groups.

Each successfully-selected firm was required to make social value pledges, such as offering apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and volunteering hours.

The full list of planning consultants appointed to the framework is as follows:
