DIT proposes PD rights extension and more LDO use to support 'freeports' plan

The government is considering extending permitted development (PD) rights within sea ports to bring them into line with airports and encouraging more use of local development orders (LDOs) in such areas, according to a consultation launched today on its proposed "freeports" initiative.
