How the new method for updating CIL rates will affect future charges

Since the beginning of this month, authorities have been required to use a new Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) indexation system, which experts say is more transparent and clearer than its predecessor. While the new index has caused a slight drop in CIL rates for this year, observers say the levy should cover as much of the relevant infrastructure costs as ever.
