Severe flooding was also experienced in Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. In the aftermath of the floods, independent government advisory body the Committee on Climate Change estimated that, if current development trends continue, it is possible that between 105,000 and 165,000 more homes will be built in the highest-risk flood zones between 2018-19 and 2022-23.
