Dutch joins from Hogan Lovells, where she has been a partner since 2007 and most recently headed up the firm's planning team.
According to Ashurst, Dutch "focuses on all aspects of planning law, highways law, heritage law and CPO" and has "extensive experience of managing major regeneration projects, with a particular specialism in energy and waste projects".
Dutch is vice-chair of property lobby body the British Property Federation’s planning committee and also a member of the Oxford Joint Planning Law Conference Committee.
Ashurst was ranked 23rd in Planning’s 2019 list of highest rated law firms, and ranked 24th on its list of top employers of planning lawyers.

Law firm Ashurst has announced the appointment of Claire Dutch as a partner and co-head of the planning team in its real estate practice in London.
