Letter: Freedom to demolish piece overlooked waste implications

In your feature on the proposed changes in the 'freedom to demolish' office buildings for replacement with residential structures, there was no mention of the waste of resources that demolition represents.

If the government were serious about sustainability, surely a test of the possibility of adaptability should be examined before demolition is allowed.

I am surprised that this was not included in Joey Gardiner's piece.
