Floodplain homes to double over next 50 years, says Environment Agency

Demand for housing is likely to see the number of properties built on floodplains double over the next 50 years and increased investment in local authority planning teams will be crucial to mitigate the risk from flooding, statutory consultee the Environment Agency has said.
