How the Feb 2019 NPPF and guidance revisions change the system, Part 5: New planning practice guidance on economic need

A new section of the planning practice guidance has been added, covering the process for assessing economic need (paragraphs 025 to 030). This is designed to reflect the policy direction in paragraph 20 of the NPPF, that strategic policies should make sufficient provision for employment, set out a clear economic vision and recognise and address the specific locational requirements of different sectors.
