Manchester mayor slams 'dishonest' Malthouse comments on councils' housing need flexibilities

The mayor of Greater Manchester has accused the housing minister Kit Malthouse of giving an "unfair and dishonest" account of the degree of flexibility that councils have to deviate from the government's new standard method of assessing housing need, claiming the minister's view does not reflect current government policy.
