Cheltenham Borough Council decided to adopted its CIL charging schedule at a meeting of their full council that was held on 15 October 2018. The levy will be charged from 1 January 2019.
Rates include:
- Two residential charging zones with one zone having differential rates so that very large residential developments will be charged £35 per square metre, large residential developments will be charged £200 per square metre, and small residential developments will be charged £148 per square metre.
- The other residential charging zone will charge £35 per square metre.
- Retirement home developments will be charged £200 per square metre.
- Extra care home developments will be charged £100 per square metre.
- No charge for all other uses.
