The survey, which has been published annually since 1997, provides key business information on staffing levels and fee income across planning consultancies of all sizes, an assessment of market growth prospects in the sector and a summary of consultants' views on a selection of current planning topics. Last year, 136 firms took part, including most of the market leaders.
For consultancies, it is a unique opportunity to update the whole sector on the extent of their professional resources, location of their offices and the extent of their activity in particular sectors.
All consultants that responded to the 2017 survey for whom we have mailing permissions were emailed on Monday 10 September, inviting them to respond via an online questionnaire, or a hard copy version if they prefer. We also mailed other consultants for whom we hold mailing permissions to invite them to take part.
Consultancies who have not received the email are encouraged to use the links below to access the form.
We have designed the survey to be quick to complete, while still gathering enough information to provide a useful report to the sector. The results will be published in Planning as part of a special report in November.
The survey can be completed online here.
