Legal Viewpoint: Ruling highlights councils' public sector equality duty

With objectors seeking a variety of ways to challenge the validity of planning permissions, a High Court ruling last month should put local planning authorities on notice of the requirement under the Equality Act 2010 to explicitly consider any impacts on protected groups and show how they have paid due regard to those needs.
