Maidstone Local Plan - Strategy adopted

The Maidstone Local Plan was adopted on 25 October 2017.

Maidstone Borough Council decided to adopt its Local Plan on 25 October 2017.

Previous Progress

Maidstone Borough Council had consulted on their publication draft Local Plan between 5 February 2016 and 18 March 2016.

Maidstone Borough Council then submitted their draft local plan for examination on 20 May 2016.

An Inspector was appointed and examination hearing sessions were held between 4 October 2016 and 24 January 2017. As a result of these hearing sessions the Council produced a schedule of main modifications that were available for consultation between 31 March 2017 and 19 May 2017.

The Inspector's report into the Maidstone Local Plan was issued to the Council on 27 July 2017. The Inspector found that, provided modifications were made, the plan would provide an appropriate basis for the planning of the Borough.
