Ponteland Neighbourhood Development Plan - Plan adopted

The Ponteland neighbourhood development plan was made part of Northumberland County Council's local development framework on 23 November 2017.

Northumberland County Council decided to make the Ponteland neighbourhood plan part of its local development framework on 23 November 2017. The plan will inform the development of the Town up to 2031.

In a referendum on whether Northumberland County Council should use the Ponteland neighbourhood plan there was a 96.3% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 28 September 2017 and had a turnout of 29.5%.

The Examiner's report on the Ponteland neighbourhood plan was issued to Northumberland County Council on 30 June 2017. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Ponteland Town Council had submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Northumberland County Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 21 April 2017 and 5 June 2017.

Ponteland Town Council had published its pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that took place between 1 November 2016 and 16 December 2016.

The application from Ponteland Town Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Northumberland Council on 28 June 2013.
