Ashcott Neighbourhood Development Plan - Plan adopted

The Ashcott neighbourhood development plan was made part of Sedgemoor District Council's local development framework on 19 October 2016.

Sedgemoor District Council decided to make the Ashcott neighbourhood plan part of its local development framework on 19 October 2016. The plan will inform the development of the Parish up to 2027.

In a referendum on whether Sedgemoor District Council should use the Ashcott neighbourhood plan there was a 85.7% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 4 August 2016 and had a turnout of 40.5%.

The Examiner's report on the Ashcott neighbourhood plan was issued to Sedgemoor District Council on 24 March 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Ashcott Parish Council submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Sedgemoor District Council in May 2015. Sedgemoor District Council are now holding a consultation on the plan between 18 June 2015 and 30 July 2015.

Prior to the submission of the draft to Sedgemoor District Council, Ashcott Parish Council held a consultation on their pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan between 1 January 2015 and 16 February 2015.

The application from Ashcott Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Sedgemoor District Council on 1 August 2012. The application was submitted on 24 April 2012.
