Boxted Neighbourhood Development Plan - Plan adopted

The Boxted neighbourhood development plan was made part of Colchester Borough Council's local development framework on 8 December 2016.

Colchester Borough Council decided to make the Boxted neighbourhood plan part of its local development framework on 8 December 2016. The plan will inform the development of the Parish up to 2029.

In a referendum on whether Colchester Borough Council should use the Boxted neighbourhood plan there was a 81.6% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on on 15 September 2016 and had a turnout of 34.6%.

The Examiner's report on the Boxted neighbourhood plan was issued to Colchester Borough Council on 5 May 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Boxted Parish Council had submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Colchester District Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 1 February 2016 and 14 March 2016.

Boxted Parish Council had published its pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that took place between 21 July 2014 and 15 September 2014.

The application from Boxted Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Colchester District Council on 8 October 2012.
