Vale of White Horse Local Plan Part 1 - Strategy adopted

The Vale of White Horse Local Plan Part 1 was adopted on 14 December 2016.

Vale of White Horse District Council decided to adopt its Local Plan Part 1 at a meeting of its Full Council that was held on 14 December 2016. The Local Plan Part 1 will set the strategic vision for the development in the District up to 2031.

Previous Progress

Vale of White Horse District Council had published its draft Local Plan for consultation between 7 November 2014 and 19 December 2014.

The Vale of White Horse District Council submitted their Local plan: Part 1 to the Secretary of State on 18 March 2015.

An Inspector was appointed, and two rounds of hearings were held between  22 and 29 September 2015 and  2 and 19 February 2016. As a result of these hearings the Inspector issued their Interm Findings to the Council on 7 June 2016.

On 20 July 2016 Vale of White Horse District Council published their schedule of main modifications which are availble for consultation until 14 September 2016.

The Inspector's report on the Vale of White Horse District Council was issued on 30 November 2016. The Inspector found that, provided modifications were made, the plan would provide a sound basis for the planning of the District.
