South Downs National Park Authority decided to make the Findon neighbourhood plan part of its local development framework on 8 December 2016. The plan will inform development in the Parish up to 2035.
In a referendum held by Arun District Council on whether South Downs National Park Authority should use the Findon neighbourhood plan there was a 93.3% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 3 November 2016 and had a turnout of 25.5%.
The Examiner's report on the Findon neighbourhood plan was issued to South Downs National Park Authority on 5 August 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.
Findon Parish Council had submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to South Downs National Park Authority who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 12 February 2016 and 15 April 2016.
Findon Parish Council had published its pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that took place between 16 September 2015 and 28 October 2015.
The application from Findon Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by South Downs National Park Authority on 13 September 2012.
