Waverley Local Plan Part 1 - Strategy submitted to Secretary of State

The Waverley Local Plan Part 1 was submitted to the Secretary of State on 21 December 2016.

Waverley Borough Council has submitted its pre-submission draft Local Plan Part 1 along with a schedule of modifications to the Secretary of State for examination on 21 December 2016.

Waverley Borough Council had published its pre-submission draft Local Plan Part 1 for a consultation that took place between 19 August 2016 and 3 October 2016.

Previous Plan

The Waverley Borough Council had published an earlier pre-submission draft Core Strategy that had been available for consultation from 26 August 2012 until 5 October 2012 prior to submission in January 2013. Hearing sessions were then held in June 2013.

Waverley Borough Council wrote to the Inspector on 16 October 2013 requesting that their Core Strategy be withdrawn from examination. The plan was withdrawn because the Inspector sent a note that had found that Waverley Borough Council would have to carry out a upto date Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA). If a SHMA were to be carried out the results could not be used without fundamentally altering the Core Strategy.
