Truro and Kenwyn Neighbourhood Development Plan - Plan adopted

The Truro and Kenwyn neighbourhood development plan was made part of Cornwall Council's local development framework on 20 December 2016.

Cornwall Council have decided to make the Truro and Kenwyn neighbourhood plan part of its local development framework on 20 December 2016. The plan will inform the development of the City and the Parish up to 2030.

In a referendum on whether Cornwall Council should use the Truro and Kenwyn neighbourhood plan there was a 84.8% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 10 November 2016 and had a turnout of 17.1%,

The Examiner's report on the Truro and Kenwyn neighbourhood plan was issued to Cornwall Council on 24 March 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Truro City and Kenwyn Parish Councils had submitted their draft neigbourhood plan to Cornwall Council who are held a consultation on the plan between 24 September 2015 and 29 October 2015.

Truro City and Kenwyn Parish Councils had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that was held between 8 December 2014 and 19 January 2015.

An application from Truro City and Kenwyn Parish Councils to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Cornwall Council on 7 September 2012. The application was submitted on 24 April 2012.
