Faringdon Neighbourhood Development Plan - Plan adopted

The Faringdon neighbourhood development plan was made part of Vale of White Horse District Council's local development framework on 14 December 2016.

Vale of White Horse District Council decided to make the Faringdon neighbourhood plan part 1 and part 2 part of its local development framework on 14 December 2016. The plan will inform planning decisions in the Town up to 2031.

In a referendum on whether Vale of White Horse District Council should use the Faringdon neighbourhood plan there was a 90.9% vote in favour of using the plan. The refertendum was held on 24 November 2016 and had a turnout of 18.9%.

The Examiner's report on the Faringdon neighbourhood plan was issued to Vale of White Horse District Council on 17 August 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Faringdon Town Council had re-submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Vale of White Horse District Council who had publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 15 May 2015 and 26 June 2015. As a result of the modifications suggested by the previous Examiner the Town Council had decided to withdraw their previous submission draft.

A previous Examiner's report on the Faringdon neighbourhood plan was issued to Vale of White Horse District Council on 22 October 2014. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Faringdon Town Council had submitted their previous draft neighbourhood plan to Vale of White Horse District Council for a consultation that took place between 25 July 2014 and 12 September 2014.

Faringdon Town Council had published its pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that took place between 17 May 2014 and 28 June 2014.

The application from Faringdon Town Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Vale of White Horse District Council on 10 June 2014.
