Lichfield District Council have decided to make the Wigginton, Hopwas & Comberford neighbourhood plan part of their local development framework on 13 December 2016. The plan will inform planning decisions in the Parish up to 2029.
In a referendum on whether Lichfield District Council should use the Wiggington, Hopwas & Comberford neighbourhood plan there was a 86.8% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 29 September 2016 and had a turnout of 17.6%.
The Examiner's report on the Wiggington, Hopwas & Comberford was issued to Lichfield District Council in January 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.
Wiggington & Hopwas Parish Council had submitted its draft neighbourhood plan to Lichfield District Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 23 October 2015 and 4 December 2015.
Wiggington & Hopwas Parish Council had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that ran between 14 August 2015 and 25 September 2015.
The application from Wiggington & Hopwas Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Lichfield District Council on 9 July 2013.
