Lichfield District Council have decided to make the Shenstone neighbourhood plan part of their local development framework on 13 December 2016. The plan will inform planning decisions in the Parish up to 2029.
In a referendum on whether Lichfield District Council should use the Shenstone neighbourhood plan there was a 88.7% vote infavour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 17 November 2016 and had a turnout of 24.1%.
The Examiner's report on the Shenstone neighbourhood plan was issued to Lichfield District Council on 15 April 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the Shenstone neighbourhood plan could proceed to a referendum.
Shenstone Parish Council had submitted its draft neighbourhood plan to Lichfield District Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 9 October 2015 and 20 November 2015.
Shenstone Parish Council had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that ran between 3 November 2014 and 4 January 2015.
The application from Shenstone Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Lichfield District Council on 19 February 2013.
