Stroud District Council decided to make the Eastington neighbourhood plan part of their local development framework on 27 October 2016. The plan will inform planning decisions in the Parish up to 2031.
In a referendum on whether Stroud District Council should use the Eastington neighbourhood plan there was a 90.6% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 18 August 2016 and had a turnout of 29%.
The Examiner's report on the Eastington neighbourhood plan was issued to Stroud District Council on 28 April 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.
Eastington Parish Council had submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Stroud District Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 20 January 2016 and 2 March 2016.
Eastington Parish Council had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood for a previous round of consultation that had taken place between 1 May 2015 and 12 June 2015.
The application from Eastington Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Stroud District Council on 12 September 2013.
