Marton Neighbourhood Development Plan - Referendum results published

The referendum result on the Marton neighbourhood development plan was published on 27 October 2016.

In a referendum on whether Cheshire East Borough Council should use the Marton neighbourhood plan there was a 92.9% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 27 October 2016 and had a turnout of 44%.

The Examiner's report on the Marton neighbourhood plan was issued to Cheshire East Council on 20 July 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.

Marton Parish Council had submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Cheshire East Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 26 February 2016 and 11 April 2016.

Marton Parish Council had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that took place between 18 December 2015 and 1 February 2016.

The application from Marton Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Cheshire East Council on 23 February 2015.
