In a referendum on whether Lewes District Council should use the Wivelsfield neighbourhood plan there was a 96% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 27 October 2016 and had a turnout of 34%.
The Examiner's report on the Wivelsfield neighbourhood plan was issued to Lewes District Council on 23 August 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.
Wivelsfield Parish Council had submitted its draft neighbourhood plan to Lewes District Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 8 February 2016 and 21 March 2016.
Wivelsfield Parish Council had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood development plan for a previous round of consultation that ran between 16 February 2015 and 29 March 2015.
An application from Wivelsfield Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Lewes District Council Council on 07 June 2013.
