In a referendum on whether Amber Valley Borough Council should use the Hazelwood neighbourhood plan there was a 83.7% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 20 October 2016 and had a turnout of 35.4%.
The Examiner's report on the Hazelwood neighbourhood plan was issued to Amber Valley Borough Council on 8 July 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the plan could proceed to a referendum.
Hazelwood Parish Council had submitted their draft neighbourhood plan to Amber Valley Borough Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 9 May 2016 and 20 June 2016.
Hazelwood Parish Council had published its pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation that took place between 1 October 2015 and 16 November 2015.
The application from Hazelwood Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Amber Valley Borough Council on 10 February 2014.
