In a referendum on whether Cotswold District Council should use the Lechlade-on-Thames neighbourhood plan there was a 87.9% vote in favour of using the plan. The referendum was helad on 13 October 2016 and had a turnout of 28.2%.
The Examiner's report on the Lechlade-on-Thames neighbourhood plan was issued to Cotswold District Council on 4 February 2016. The Examiner found that provided modifications were made the Lechlade-on-Thames neighbourhood plan could proceed to a referendum.
Lechlade-on-Thames Town Council had submitted its draft neighbourhood plan to Cotswold District Council who publicised the plan for a consultation that took place between 17 November 2015 and 11 January 2016.
Lechlade-on-Thames Town Council had published their pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan for a previous round of consultation which took place between 18 February 2015 and 6 April 2015.
The application from Lechdale-on-Thames Town to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan had been approved by Cotswold District Council on 7 October 2013. The application was submitted on 2 August 2013.
