Village held to be unsustainable for large scale expansion

Notwithstanding a local plan in Kent which identified a village as a sustainable location for a significant increase in housing, an inspector in dismissing an appeal for up to 475 dwellings along with commercial and leisure uses, decided that future residents would be dependent upon the use of private cars such that overall the site did not represent a sustainable location.
