Gosport Local Plan- Strategy adopted

The Gosport Local Plan was adopted on 14 October 2015.

Gosport Borough Council formally adopted its Local Plan on 14 October 2015. The Local Plan sets the strategic vision for the development in the Borough between 2011 and 2029.

Previous Progress

Gosport Borough Council published a draft Local Plan for consultation between 19 December 2012 and 13 February 2013. The Council then published a new draft Local Plan based on the December draft which was available for a further round of public consultation between 12 August 2014 and 22 September 2014.

The Gosport Local Plan was then submitted to the Secretary of State on 28 November 2014.

An Inspector was then allocated and hearing sessions were held in March 2015. Following the hearing sessions the Inspectors preliminary findings were issued to the Council on 7 May 2015. The Inspector had identified shortcomings in the plan and discussed the necessary main modifications during the hearing sessions. The findings then outlined the main modifications that the Inspector decided were necessary to amend the plan. The Council then consulting on these main modifications between 21 May 2015 and 2 July 2015.

The Inspector's report was issued to Gosport Borough Council on 7 September 2015. The report on the Gosport Local Plan had found that, provided modifications were made, the plan was sound. The modifications recommended by the Inspector had been subject to public consultation.
