Duston Neighbourhood Development Plan - Plan adopted

The Duston neighbourhood development plan was made part of Northampton Borough Council's local development plan on 14 December 2015

At Full Council on the 14 December 2015 Northampton Borough Council made the Duston Neighbourhood Plan. It now forms part of the Development Plan, meaning that it is a material consideration when deciding planning applications.

Previous progress

The Duston neighbourhood plan has passed referendum with a vote of 85.6% in favour using the plan to help determine planning applications in the Parish. The referendum was held on 5 November 2015 and had a turnout of 16.6%.

The Examiner's report was issued to Northampton Borough Council on 26 May 2015. The report on the Duston draft neighborhood plan had found that, provided modifications were made, the plan should proceed to a referendum.

Northampton Borough Council had recieved the submission draft Duston neighbourhood plan on 23 February 2015 and then published the plan for public consultation held between 26 February 2015 and 14 April 2015.

Duston Parish Council had published their pre-submission draft neigbourhood plan for consultation that ran between 17 November 2014 and 9 January 2015.

The application from Duston Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by Northampton Borough Council on 11 September 2013. The application was submitted on 21 May 2013.
