North Somerset Council formally made the Long Ashton neighbourhood plan part of its local development framework on 10 November 2015. The plan will help inform planning decisions in the parish until 2033.
The Long Ashton neighbourhood plan had passed a referendum with a vote of 94.8% in favour of using the plan. The referendum was held on 24 September 2015 and had a turnout of 33.6%.
The Examiner's report was issued on 21 April 2014. The report on the Long Ashton neighbourhood plan recommended to North Somerset Council that the plan should, subject to modifications, proceed to a referendum.
Long Ashton Parish Council submitted their draft neighbourhood development plan to North Somerset Council on 5 August 2014 for its examination in public. The plan had been made available for consultation from 25 August 2014 until 13 October 2014.
The pre-submission draft neighbourhood plan had been published on 15 February 2014 by Long Ashton Parish Council for a consultation that ran between 17 February 2014 and 31 March 2014.
The application from Long Ashton Parish Council to be the designated body to produce the neighbourhood development plan was approved by North Somerset Council on 11 March 2013.
