Eastleigh Local Plan - Strategy submitted to Secretary of State (Examination Update)

The Eastleigh Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on 15 July 2014.

An examiner will be allocated and the strategy will then be inspected. The pre-submission draft local plan was published for consultation between 10 February and 24 March 2014.

Examination Update

An Inspector was appointed and hearings were held between 10 and 13 November 2014. The Inspector's preliminary conclusions were then published on 28 November 2014. In the report the Inspector found that the plan could not be found sound and that Eastleigh Borough Council should either request for the examination to be suspended or to withdraw the plan. The Inspector had found that further work would have to be done to address housing needs and supply and economic growth.
