Large Biomass power station approved if operated as Combined Heat and Power plant

A Section 36 Electricity Act proposal for a 120MW biomass electricity generating station at a port in Scotland was approved. The Scottish Ministers deciding the scheme was sustainable and although smaller plants were more efficient, large scale plants were not contrary to policy if restricted to operation as a Combined Heat and Power Plant.
