Chris Oldershaw, former chief executive of Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company, has joined property consultants Bruton Knowles as a key regeneration adviser. Bruton Knowles said Oldershaw would be based in Gloucester but offer advice on projects nationwide.
Matthew White has been promoted to head up the London planning team at Herbert Smith Freehills. White, a planning partner, takes over from Patrick Robinson.

Architect BDP has appointed George Smith as a town planning consultant at its Manchester studio. Smith leaves GVA and will work on projects including a commercial land-use planning framework for the Kuwait Municipality.
Freddie Gick has been appointed chairman of Civic Voice, the umbrella organisation for the nation's 500 civic societies. He is a former leader of Birmingham Civic Society and a current member of Cheltenham Civic Society.
