Solihull Core Strategy - Found Sound

The Core Strategy for Solihull was inspected and approved on 21 November 2013.

The Inspector has found that the Solihull Core Strategy is sound providing a number of modifications are made to the plan. Recommended modifications include:

- New text confirming requirements of the Duty to Co-operate

- A policy confirming the presumption in favour of sustainable development

- Clarifying the justification for removing Green Belt land

- Clarification of the councils retail, housing provision and gypsie and travellers policies

- Amendments to text regarding nature conservation, flood risk issues, mineral extraction and SSSI's

- Introduction of a policy for development contributions and infrastructure provision

- Updates to delivery and monitoring targets

The Draft Local Plan was submitted for examination on 14 September 2012 and the examination hearings were held on 10 January to 1 March and on 10 and 11 October 2013.
