Bidwells appoints new head of planning

Property consultancy Bidwells has appointed Mike Derbyshire as its new head of planning.

Derbyshire joins from real estate firm Savills, where he was a senior director in London.

Prior to that he was a chief planning officer at Broadlands District Council and he was also chief development control officer at Three Rivers District Council.

Bidwells’ senior partner Patrick McMahon said Derbyshire would bring "invaluable" national experience to the firm.

According to Bidwells, Derbyshire has extensive experience with prime central London property, including the delivery of the London Clinic’s Quantum Leap expansion programme in and around Harley Street.

He also recently secured outline permission for Crest Strategic’s 1,200-home Millennium Community in Milton Keynes.
