In a statement issued yesterday, the RTPI said that the three shortlisted projects are:

- Falkirk Greenspace Initiative (Falkirk Council and Central Scotland Forest Trust)
- Giant’s Causeway Visitors’ Centre (Turley Associates)
- Wales Coast Path (Natural Resources Wales)

The RTPI said that the winner of the award will be announced on 10 July at the RTPI Planning Awards for Excellence ceremony in London.

RTPI president Dr Peter Geraghty said: "The entries this year demonstrate the very diverse nature of planning projects in the countryside that are positively contributing to the rural economy as well as valuing the intrinsic nature of the environment. This will be a hotly contested category."

Last week the RTPI announced the shortlist for this year's planning consultancy awards.
