Date: 26 November
Venue: University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham GL50 4AZ
This event, organised by the RTPI-Chartered Institute of Housing planning for housing network, will hear from two presenters about their experience of housing delivery, followed by a debate to draw upon the shared experience of all those attending. The primary aim will be to provoke thoughts on how to improve the delivery of the good-quality housing that is needed across the UK.
Martin Willey, a past president of the RTPI, will outline the lessons from seven years of the South West Housing Initiative, which has been bringing the housing industry and the professions together with great effect to deliver homes. James Derounian, principal lecturer in community development and local governance at the University of Gloucestershire, will examine the progress of neighbourhood plans and in particular their potential to deliver more housing. He is involved with the development of a neighbourhood plan for the area where he lives.
