DLA appointed for Oxford masterplan

Oxford City Council has appointed consultancy David Lock Associates (DLA) to produce a masterplan and supplementary planning document (SPD) for the Oxpens site within the city centre.

Oxpens is one of few remaining significant brownfield sites in Oxford City Centre and, according to DLA, represents Oxford city centre’s single biggest redevelopment opportunity.

DLA will be preparing the SPD in collaboration with the major landowners, principally Oxford City Council and British Railways Board (Residuary) Ltd (BRBR). MJP Architects will support DLA providing specialist advice on building design.

The SPD and masterplan will go out for consultation in autumn 2012, DLA said.

DLA has previously worked with the council to prepare the Oxford West End Area Development Framework.
