NLP to prepare housing evidence

Nathaniel Lichfield and Partners (NLP) has been appointed to prepare evidence on local housing requirements for two local authorities.

The studies, for Test Valley Borough Council in Hampshire and Sefton Council on Merseyside, will assess the housing, economic and demographic factors shaping requirements for new housing in their core strategies.

NLP director Matthew Spry said: "The scale of need for new housing is one of the most pressing policy challenges facing local authorities, put in even sharper focus by the fiscal benefits that may arise from the new homes bonus.

"Our studies will use a range of housing, economic and demographic tools to evidence the policy choices available to the councils in adopting local housing targets."
