£1.3bn - Amount anti-wind farm campaigners could cost England in investment and jobs, according to research. RenewableUK said the figure is based on onshore wind farm developments seeking planning consents.

£150m - Estimated cost of a waste-to-energy plant in Splott, Cardiff, which has final approval from the Environment Agency. Operator Viridor says the plant will create enough energy to power 50,000 homes.

3,750 - Number of new homes in National Grid's masterplan for the former gasworks site in Southall, given final approval by London mayor Boris Johnson.

185mph - Speed that the Campaign to Protect Rural England wants included in next year's public consultation on High Speed 2. The government is proposing 250mph.

54m - Maximum height of the proposed cable car over the River Thames to link 2012 Olympic venues. The Transport for London scheme would run from north Greenwich to Royal Victoria Dock.

12% - Percentage consultancy Savills expects house prices to rise by 2015. The firm estimates that prime central London prices will go up by 33 per cent.
