Group builds project base

A new body aimed at promoting best practice in infrastructure planning was inaugurated this week.

Bircham Dyson Bell (BDB) hosted the launch of the National Infrastructure Planning Association, which will be open to developers, law firms and campaign groups.

Former Conservative minister Steve Norris will chair the association. Its objectives include preparing applications to the Infrastructure Planning Commission or any successor body. It will bring together and build regional and national networks and provide a knowledge, evidence and research base.

"We intend to share experience and devise best practice rather than express opinions on particular projects," maintained BDB partner Angus Walker. "We will seek to assist the government rather than be a thorn in its side."
