Greenwich approves hotel

The London Borough of Greenwich has recommended approval for a hotel and riverside apartments next to the O2 Arena.

The scheme will be subject to planning conditions and a legal agreement. It also needs the go-ahead from the mayor of London before work can start.

The proposal is for a 452-bed hotel with a ballroom, a restaurant, meeting rooms and a health spa. A hundred apartments will be linked to the hotel, each with its own winter garden, and there will also be an outdoor communal area.
